Hikvision UK & Ireland Operations Update

Today, Hikvision is reconfirming its commitment to the UK market.

There has been considerable interest in the Procurement Bill and, in particular, the UK Government’s definition of ‘sensitive sites’.

Following extensive UK Government engagement with Hikvision, and with the relevant legislation in the Procurement Bill having been debated and approved by all sides across the two Houses of Parliament, we welcome the decision allowing our products to continue being used in private and public sector buildings. We believe this recognises the quality and security credentials of Hikvision’s products and adds to a growing consensus about the safety and integrity of our technology.

As a manufacturer, Hikvision has always been clear that the company and our products can be of great benefit to the UK and are demonstrably not a threat to national security. All Hikvision products are subject to strict security requirements and are compliant with the applicable laws and regulations in the UK. As a global leader in video security, Hikvision is committed to upholding the highest industry standards and ensuring that our products promoting public safety are made widely available.

Now that we have this confirmation from the UK Government, alongside regulatory clarity from the Procurement Bill, which is nearing its conclusion, we are pleased to take this opportunity to publicly renew our commitment to the UK. We will write to our customers and stakeholders across the UK to inform them of the updated Government position.

Hikvision cameras will continue to play a key role in promoting public safety in the UK and we have ambitious plans for our technology to play an integral role in powering the future, from transport to health, via our suite of solutions.
