Overview

The Ruijie RG-ES207GS-PI-OD is an outdoor Gigabit switch from Ruijie’s Reyee Smart CCTV range, designed for camera points in car parks, parks, along highways and on large sites. It mounts on a wall or pole next to the cameras, and Ruijie describes it as an all-in-one outdoor switch that combines four devices into one.

It has five Gigabit RJ45 ports: ports 1–4 deliver PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) to the cameras, and port 5 is the PoE-in uplink, accepting PoE, PoE+ or PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt). One cable from the main PoE switch can therefore carry both the network and the power for the outdoor switch and its cameras — no separate mains supply at the pole. The PoE budget follows the input: 60 W from a 90 W PoE++ source, 40 W from 60 W PoE++, 19 W from 30 W PoE+ and 6 W from 15.4 W PoE. The switch can also run from a 12 V DC supply (0.5 A rated), in which case its PoE outputs are not powered.

Two 1G SFP ports take fibre modules for long uplinks and support ERPS ring protection. The fanless, fully dustproof and jet-water-resistant IP65 plastic housing is rated −30°C to +65°C, with ±8 kV common-mode surge protection on the camera ports.
