Export Orders – Terms & Conditions and Delivery Information

Export Orders — Terms & Conditions and Delivery Information

These terms apply to every order delivered to an address outside the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland ("Export Orders"). They apply in addition to our general Terms & Conditions of sale; where the two differ, these Export terms take precedence for Export Orders. By placing an Export Order you confirm that you have read and accept them. For UK and Ireland deliveries please see our Delivery Information page.

1. Who we sell export orders to

1.1 Export Orders are accepted from business customers (security installers, integrators, resellers and other trade or organisational buyers) purchasing goods for use in their business. By placing an Export Order you confirm that you are buying in the course of a business.

1.2 Nothing in these terms excludes any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights of consumers in countries where such rights apply to our sales.

1.3 We ship to the countries listed at checkout only. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any Export Order before dispatch, for example where the goods cannot lawfully be exported to, or imported into, the destination country, where payment cannot be verified, or where the delivery address is not the buyer's own premises.

2. Prices, VAT and payment

2.1 All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). UK VAT is not charged on Export Orders because the goods are exported from the UK; zero-rating is conditional on the goods being dispatched by us, via our courier, directly to the overseas delivery address.

2.2 We do not ship Export Orders to UK addresses, freight forwarders or consolidators. If an Export Order is addressed to a UK location, UK VAT at 20% will be charged.

2.3 Export Orders are payable by bank transfer only (BACS, TT or SWIFT) in GBP to the account details given at checkout and on your order confirmation. Card and wallet payments are not available for Export Orders.

2.4 All bank charges are for the buyer's account. International transfers must be sent with the charge code OUR so that we receive the full order value. Any shortfall will be requested before dispatch.

2.5 Goods are dispatched only when cleared funds have been received. Delivery lead times run from the date of cleared funds, not the date of order. Orders unpaid after 14 days may be cancelled.

2.6 The export delivery charge shown at checkout includes our export administration fee, which covers customs documentation, commercial invoicing and export handling. It is not refundable once the order has been processed.

3. Customs, import duty and taxes — the buyer's responsibility

3.1 Export Orders are supplied Delivered At Place (DAP, Incoterms® 2020) to the delivery address. The buyer is the importer of record.

3.2 All import duty, import VAT, sales tax, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees and any other charges levied in the destination country are payable by the buyer and are not included in our prices or delivery charges. The courier will normally contact the recipient to collect these charges before delivery.

3.3 The buyer is responsible for providing any information required for customs clearance (for example an EORI, VAT/tax identification number, importer licence or personal identification number) promptly when requested by us or the courier. Delays caused by missing information are the buyer's responsibility.

3.4 If the buyer refuses to pay import charges, refuses delivery, or fails to respond to customs, the goods may be returned to us, destroyed or seized by the authorities. In that case we will refund the price of any goods actually returned to us in resaleable condition, less the outbound and return carriage, the export administration fee, and any duties, taxes, storage or disposal charges we incur. No refund is made for goods that are seized, destroyed or not returned.

3.5 Import restrictions. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm that the goods may lawfully be imported into and used in the destination country. In particular, video surveillance equipment manufactured by, or containing components from, certain manufacturers (including Hikvision and its HiLook brand) is subject to regulatory restrictions in some countries — for example the United States FCC "Covered List" and NDAANDAA Section 889 Explained: A UK CCTV Installer's Guide Section 889 rules. We give no warranty that goods are permitted for import or for any particular use in the destination country, and we accept no liability for refusal, seizure, delay or penalties arising from such restrictions.

3.6 Buyers must not export, re-export or supply the goods to any country, entity or person subject to UK, EU, UN or US sanctions or export controls.

4. Delivery and couriers

4.1 Delivery services shown at checkout (for example "Export Road" or "Export Air") describe the type of service. The choice of courier and service is at our discretion at the time of shipping. We normally use DPD, but may use another carrier of equivalent standing where we consider it appropriate.

4.2 Transit times quoted are working-day estimates from the date of dispatch, exclude time spent in customs, and are not guaranteed. Courier delays, customs inspections, strikes, weather, and other events outside our control are beyond our responsibility and do not give rise to any right to cancel, to a refund of delivery charges, or to compensation.

4.3 The export delivery charge is based on a standard parcel. If your order requires additional parcels, exceeds courier size or weight limits, or the delivery address is in a remote area attracting courier surcharges, we will contact you with the additional cost before dispatch. You may cancel the order for a full refund at that point if you do not accept the additional cost.

4.4 A signature is required on delivery. The buyer must ensure that someone is available to receive the goods and to pay any import charges due. Consignments returned as undeliverable are treated as refused (clause 3.4).

4.5 Risk in the goods passes to the buyer on delivery to the delivery address. Title passes on receipt of cleared payment in full. Please inspect the consignment on delivery and report any damage or shortage to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the packaging and goods; we cannot pursue a claim with the courier without this.

5. Cancellation and returns

5.1 Export Orders are non-cancellable and non-returnable once placed, except as set out in clause 4.3 (additional delivery cost not accepted) or where we are unable to fulfil the order. Goods are procured, packed and customs-documented specifically for each Export Order.

5.2 Standard (change-of-mind or unwanted goods) returns are not accepted on Export Orders. Please check compatibility, regional specification (see clause 6) and suitability before ordering; we are happy to advise before you buy.

5.3 Orders that have been paid for but not yet dispatched may be cancelled at our discretion; we may deduct bank charges and the export administration fee from any refund.

6. Regional specification of goods

6.1 Goods are supplied to United Kingdom / European specification. Unless stated otherwise on the product page this means UK (BS 1363) mains plugs, 230 V power supplies, English-language firmware and UK/EU regional firmware and support.

6.2 Some manufacturers, including Hikvision, restrict firmware, cloud services, mobile apps or technical support to the region in which the product was sold. We cannot guarantee that goods will be supported, activated or serviced by the manufacturer in the destination country, and this is not a defect.

6.3 Radio-equipped products (Wi-Fi, 4G, wireless alarm devices) are certified for the UK/EU and may not be approved for use in other countries. The buyer is responsible for checking local approval and frequency rules.

7. Warranty on export orders

7.1 Goods carry the manufacturer's standard warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the period stated on the product page, from the date of dispatch. The warranty covers repair or replacement (at our or the manufacturer's option) of a defective product; it does not cover consequential loss, labour, installation or removal costs, or faults caused by misuse, incorrect installation, power surges, water ingress outside the product's rating, unauthorised modification or use of non-regional firmware.

7.2 Warranty returns are the buyer's responsibility and at the buyer's cost. Before returning anything you must obtain a Returns Authorisation (RMA) number from us. The buyer must arrange and pay for shipping the goods to us in Leicester, including insurance, export from the destination country and UK import clearance, and must mark the shipment as "returned goods — warranty repair" with the RMA number so that no UK import charges arise. Any UK import charges incurred because the return was not correctly declared will be deducted or recharged.

7.3 If the goods are found to be defective under warranty, we will repair or replace them and return them to the buyer's address by our standard export service at our cost. Import duty and taxes on the returned repaired or replacement goods in the destination country are payable by the buyer.

7.4 If no fault is found, or the fault is not covered by the warranty, we will notify you of the inspection findings and any repair cost; the goods will be returned at the buyer's cost, and an inspection fee may be charged.

7.5 Where a manufacturer operates a service centre in the destination country, we may direct you to that centre for warranty service.

8. Liability

8.1 Our total liability in respect of an Export Order, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for the goods. We are not liable for loss of profit, business, contracts, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from customs delay, seizure, refusal of import, or courier delay.

8.2 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. General

9.1 These terms and any Export Order are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9.2 We may update these terms at any time; the version published at the time you place your order applies to that order.
