Overview
The HiLook DVR-204U-M1/T is a 4-channel 5-in-1 hybrid recorder — HD-TVI, AHD, HDCVI, CVBS and IP on its 4 BNC inputs (auto-detect), with up to 8 MP (3K Lite) per channel recording. H.265 Pro+ compression reduces storage by up to 75% versus H.264. A single SATA hot-swap bay accepts HDDs up to 10 TB.
What sets this model apart from the DVR-204U-M1(E) it replaces is AcuSenseHikvision AcuSense NVR Range 2026: Sizing Guide on the recorder itself. It supports 4-channel Advanced Perimeter Protection built on a deep-learning algorithm: line-crossing and intrusion events are classified as human or vehicle before an alert is raised. In practice that means swaying foliage, heavy rain, shadows and passing animals stop generating false alarms — and because the analysis happens on the DVR, it works with ordinary analogue cameras that have no analytics of their own.
