Overview
The Hikvision DS-9632NXI-I8R/VPro is a 32-channel AcuSeek NVRHikvision K/VPro AcuSeek NVR Range: UK Installer Buyer's Guide in Hikvision's I/VPro Series. AcuSeekHikvision K/VPro AcuSeek NVR Range: UK Installer Buyer's Guide is Hikvision's natural-language video search, built on its Guanlan large-scale AI models: type what you are looking for — “white van parked near the loading bay”, “person wearing a red jacket” — and the recorder returns matching clips in seconds instead of hours of scrubbing through footage. Search works in 26 languages, including English. Two AI engines run side by side, one for face pictures and AcuSearch and one for AcuSeekHikvision K/VPro AcuSeek NVR Range: UK Installer Buyer's Guide, and the NVR can model up to 300,000 targets a day.
AcuSearch and AcuSeekHikvision K/VPro AcuSeek NVR Range: UK Installer Buyer's Guide cover all 32 channels when the cameras are Hikvision AcuSenseHikvision AcuSense NVR Range 2026: Sizing Guide models with AcuSearch enabled (analysis streams up to 8 MP). The recorder also performs its own AI: facial recognition with 8-channel face picture comparison against up to 16 libraries (50,000 face pictures, 1 GB), perimeter protection on 4 channels at 2 MP, and Motion Detection 2.0 on all channels of Hikvision cameras. ANPR from Hikvision ANPR cameras is supported on every channel, including UK plates, with vehicle brand, colour and type recorded. POS data can be overlaid on live view and playback and used to trigger recording and alarms.
Recording supports cameras up to 32 MP (up to 4 channels above 16 MP, all channels below 16 MP), with 384 Mbps incoming and 256 Mbps outgoing bandwidth, 128 remote connections and 16-channel synchronous playback. DecodingWhat is Decoding Capability capacity is 32 channels at 1080p with AI by NVR disabled, or 20 channels at 1080p with it enabled. Two independent display pairs — HDMI 1/VGA 1 and HDMI 2/VGA 2 — drive a 4K main monitor plus a 1080p auxiliary monitor. H.265+ compression cuts storage needs by up to 75%, and up to 8 Hikvision IP speakers can be connected.
Storage is built for continuous, unattended recording: 8 hot-swap SATA bays for drives up to 20 TB each (160 TB raw), 1 × eSATA for expansion and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10. RAID and the AI functions cannot be enabled at the same time, so choose storage redundancy or on-NVR AI for each installation. The redundant power supply keeps the recorder running if one PSU fails. Connections include 2 × Gigabit Ethernet, 16 alarm inputs and 9 alarm outputs, RS-232, RS-485 (full duplex), 2 × USB 2.0 on the front and 2 × USB 3.0 on the rear. The 2U chassis measures 442 × 462 × 88 mm and weighs up to 10 kg without drives.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the R in DS-9632NXI-I8R/VPro mean?
The DS-9632NXI-I8/VPro has a single power supply; the DS-9632NXI-I8R/VPro adds a redundant one, so the NVR keeps recording if one power module fails. Everything else — 32 channels, 8 drive bays and AcuSeek — is the same.
Does this NVR have built-in PoE?
No. It is a non-PoE recorder — cameras connect through a separate PoE switch.
How much storage can it hold?
8 hot-swap SATA bays take drives up to 20 TB each, giving up to 160 TB raw, plus 1 eSATA port. You can choose surveillance drives to be fitted using the hard drive option on this page.
Can I use RAID and the AI functions together?
No. RAID and the AI functions cannot be enabled at the same time, so you choose storage redundancy or on-NVR AI per installation.
Which cameras do I need for AcuSeek?
Hikvision AcuSense cameras with AcuSearch enabled. AcuSeek and AcuSearch then work on all 32 channels (analysis streams up to 8 MP).
Which languages does AcuSeek understand?
26 search languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Dutch.
How do I view it remotely?
Through the free Hik-Connect app, iVMS-4200 or HikCentral Professional. It also supports ONVIF Profile S/G, ISAPI and SDK integration.
