Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SFX/C6-UTP-LSZH-PUR-305?
A 305m box of Securiflex Cat6 U/UTP network cable with solid bare copper conductors and a purple low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket.
What does LSZH mean?
Low Smoke Zero Halogen (also called LSOH). If the cable burns it produces much less smoke and no toxic halogen gas than PVC cable, which is why it is specified inside public and commercial buildings.
When should I use LSZH instead of PVC Cat6?
Use LSZH wherever the building owner, fire strategy or specification asks for low smoke cable — for example schools, hospitals, offices, retail and escape routes. For general indoor use PVC (SFX/C6-UTP-PVC-GRY-305) is fine; for outdoor runs choose the PE external-grade SFX/C6-UTP-PE-BLK-305.
Can I use it outdoors?
No — LSZH is an internal cable. Use the black PE external-grade version for outside runs.
Will it power PoE cameras?
Yes — the solid copper conductors suit PoE IP cameras, access points and switches over runs up to 90m.
Do you stock it?
Yes — in stock at Netview CCTV, Leicester, with same-day dispatch; trade and public welcome.
