Overview
The Hikvision DS-7716NI-M4 is a 16-channel mid-range NVR in the DS-7xxx M-series — the consumer/small-business storage tier with 8K HDMI output support and full 32 MP recording per channel. H.265+ / H.265 / H.264+ / H.264 video formats are supported with H.265+ compression reducing storage by up to 75%. DecodingWhat is Decoding Capability capacity reaches 2-ch @ 32 MP + 2-ch @ 8 MP simultaneously, or 10-ch @ 8 MP / 20-ch @ 4 MP / 40-ch @ 1080p.
Storage: 4 × hot-plug SATA HDD bays accept drives up to 16 TB each (raw capacity up to 64 TB), with 1 × eSATA for external expansion. Note: this tier does NOT support RAID — for storage-redundant recording with RAID 0/1/5/6/10, see the DS-9xxx-NI range (Wave 5b). The M-series instead emphasises large per-HDD capacity and hot-plug serviceability. Incoming bandwidth 256 Mbps / outgoing bandwidth 256 Mbps. ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment) keeps recordings intact when network drops by syncing missing frames from the camera-side SD card once the connection is restored.
