The Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Smoke) Jeweller is a wireless addressable point smoke detector featuring Ajax's patented smoke chamber technology. Certified to EN 54 standards (EN 54-7/EN 54-12 and EN 54-25), this detector delivers industry-leading detection accuracy while virtually eliminating false alarms – a common frustration in commercial fire safety installations.
Patented Smoke Chamber Technology
At the core of this detector is Ajax's patented smoke chamber equipped with a dual-spectrum optical sensor. Blue and infrared LEDs emit light at different wavelengths, enabling the detector to analyse the size of volatile particles inside the chamber and accurately distinguish real smoke from dust, steam, or vapour. The chamber design also physically prevents non-volatile particles from reaching the sensor's field of view, adding an extra layer of false alarm protection.
HazeFlow 2 Algorithm
Ajax's proprietary HazeFlow 2 software algorithm provides an additional digital safeguard against false alarms. When particles are detected, the algorithm analyses and compares data from the dual-spectrum sensor against known smoke patterns before confirming an alarm. This intelligent processing ensures the detector responds instantly to genuine fire situations while ignoring environmental interference.
Reliable Wireless Operation
The detector communicates via the encrypted Jeweller radio protocol with a range of up to 1,700 metres in open space. Two-way communication ensures alarm delivery is confirmed, while automatic frequency hopping protects against interference. The detector operates 24/7 regardless of the security system's mode and is protected by dual tamper buttons – one detecting removal from the SmartBracket and another monitoring the smoke chamber lid.
Long Life & Easy Maintenance
Two pre-installed CR123A batteries deliver up to 6 years of maintenance-free operation. The detector is compatible with Solo 332 and other popular smoke aerosols for routine testing. Battery replacement is quick and tool-free via accessible covers.
